About Oka-inari Shrine

Oka-inari Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine located in Nishiwaki, Hyogo Prefecture. Known as a "Mini Fushimi Inari," it features beautiful rows of vermilion torii gates, offering a peaceful and scenic atmosphere surrounded by nature.

The shrine is a branch shrine of the famous Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto, and is historically connected to Kuroda Kanbei, a prominent samurai and strategist who served under Toyotomi Hideyoshi in the 16th century.

The largest torii gate in front of the main hall was donated by Mr. Tortoise Matsumoto, the lead singer of the famous Japanese rock band "Ulfuls," who was born in this area. His name is inscribed on the gate.

Visitors can enjoy the tranquility and seasonal beauty of the shrine, which remains a hidden gem for international travelers.
